A page turner!,
Immediately after I read Terri Reid’s book, Loose Ends (A Mary O’Reilly Paranormal Mystery), I downloaded and read her book The Ghosts of New Orleans. It did not disappoint! I stayed up way too late reading both of her books, and it was hard to stop reading!
The book dealt with paranormal activity in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The heroine, Eloise, would help the spirits of the deceased move on. The book drew me in from the first chapter when Eloise helped the little boy Andy move forward. I read this first chapter twice. Each time, the love between Andy and his mom moved me to tears. Ms. Reid is a master at letting the tension build as Eloise is introduced to the depraved character Delphine Lalaurie and barely survives the introduction and their subsequent encounters. There is quite a twist as the book proceeds that I did not foresee.
I enjoyed Eloise as a strong female lead character. The romantic tension between Eloise and Paul added to the book. Ms. Reid is a gifted storyteller, and it was fun reading how her tale unfolds. The loose strings tied together nicely in the end, and this book successfully combines the paranormal, mystery, suspense, horror, and romance.
I highly recommend this book, and I am looking forward to the next Terri Reid book!

|Page Turner,
Terri Reid has an amazing grasp of crafting the perfect novel that seems to elude many authors. Her characters are well developed, as is the plot and theme.
In Ghosts of New Orleans, Eloise Parker finds herself up against spirits that range from sweet to dangerous and evil. Her job is to help move these spirits on to the other side. Sometimes that is easier said than done. Sometimes they want to bring her along.
Eloise’s biggest job yet is to find the dangerous and elusive Delphine, torturer extraordinaire, and send her on, but Delphine has other plans. Eloise discovers, with the help of Sally, her trusted co-worker; Paul, the love interest she tries to avoid, but can’t; and Marie Leveau, the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, learning to trust and have faith in herself is more valuable than she ever thought.
I could NOT put this book down! I loved the romance between Eloise and Paul! There were laugh-out-loud moments, and leave-your-lights on scary moments – I can’t remember the last time I felt so many emotions after reading a book!

|So much Potential,
First I have to start off by saying I absolutely Loved the first two books in the Mary O’Reilly Series! So naturally I darted off to purchase The Ghosts of New Orleans. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either. All the elements were there for a fantastic book but it felt rushed to me. I didn’t fall in love with the characters the way I did in the other two books. (Except for Sally) And it was very repetitive…and for that I shed one small tear. I’m not saying don’t buy it and read it. By all means please do as it is a good story. It’s just not on the same level as the Mary O’Reilly series.
