Very good case – does fit the 4s (both Verizon and AT&T) appropriately.,

I bought this case for my brand new AT&T iphone 4S (white). My BF has the Verizon version, and the case fits both. I was a little worried when I ordered it because one review said the headphone jack hole was in the wrong place and that it actually isn’t for the 4S after all. That is not true.
There is a hole at the top of the case – for the microphone. The headphone jack is appropriately covered with a flap to avoid introducing dust and debris into the hole when it is not in use. All of the other holes, buttons, flaps, etc line up as you would expect. The buttons can be pressed easily through the raised portions of the case and the flaps can be opened and closed without issue, once you learn where they all are. = )
The description and picture don’t really do the case justice. The blue plastic is a vibrant ocean blue (nearly teal), the purple is a dark purple, but not quite plum or eggplant. It looks great with my white iphone, but also looked great with my boyfriend’s black one. Please note, however, that the opening about the back camera/flash has BLACK plastic and not blue. This may be to avoid reflective issues with the flash, and does not detract from the case in any way – even with a white iphone.
The case is solidly constructed and pieced together in such a manner than none of the pieces could accidentally come apart without either major breakage or purposeful intent.
The screen has a built in screen protector, which works well even with the second one I have underneath it (yes, I am paranoid and clumsy). The back hole exposing the apple logo also has a plastic protector. The only places the phone is even remotely exposed when all flaps are in place are: around the bottom speakers, the top microphone, the front speaker/sensor/camera area and the back camera/flash area. The exposed areas are as minimal as necessary and do not make me feel that the case would not fully protect the phone.
The case is slightly grippy and does not slip easily, but does not appear to attract lint easily, either. The screen does not have an overly plasticy feel and wipes clean easily. Although the clear film could be scratched, it would not be done so with incredible ease.
The case does add bulk to the phone. There is no getting around that. I do not find the bulk to be prohibitive, but I almost never carry my phone in my pocket. I’m not an engineer, builder or mathematician, but I would say it increases the size by about 25-30%. This is not a lot when you stick the phone in a bag or purse, but might make a difference if sticking it in a pocket. The phone also come with a black belt clip. The belt clip adds somewhat more bulk, but the phone can be placed inside with the screen pointed in or out, depending on if you value protection or convenience. The clip on the belt clip also rotates so that you can wear the phone vertically or horizontally, depending on your preference.
Please note that some descriptions say the case is felt lined. That is not true. It has a pad inside that covers about 75% of the back plastic – most likely to help cushion the phone, stop the case from scratching the phone, and to help with heat distribution. But the case is not lined in any way on the inside.
Last, but not least, there were some reviews (for other colors) that state one of two things are detractors: 1) That the case causes sound irregularities, such as lower volume or echoing OR 2) That the case interferes with the camera and/or flash. Well, I don’t know what other people are doing, but I do not find either of those statements to be true. I tested both the earphone and speakerphone with and without the case and found no issues. I also took pics with both the front and rear camera before and after placing the case and found no issues there either.
So far, I really like the case. If any issues arise, I will be sure to post them and adjust my rating as necessary.

Got this for my daughter’s iPhone 4S. Colors are true, vibrant and pretty. Cutouts fit just fine. Perfect for a kid whose favorite colors are purple and turquoise. Quite happy indeed. Although hard to get off my daughter likes to take her case off to charge her phone and it takes long time to get on and off to clean

I purchased this for my teenage daughter for her Verizon iPhone 4. She loved the colors and they are exactly as they appear in the picture. We are very pleased with the fit, color, feel and protection the Otterbox Defender provides. I was concerned if it would fit the Verizon iPhone 4 properly, but it was perfect! I also purchased the same case in different colors for myself, wife and son (he loves his Cammo Blaze cover). While the cases do add a bit of bulk, it still fits in the front and back of pants’ pockets (except now I don’t worry about it falling out because if it does it’s well protected). We also like the clip-on case that came with each cover. I would definitely recommend this case for any Verizon iPhone 4 users.
