iTune Sync Jerky Connection,
The battery has a nice outfit almost as the same size of a normal iphone case. Has a switch to charge either battery only or iphone plus iTune sync.
The problem is when turned the switch on to charge iphone with iTune sync. Used the provided MicroUSB cable to connect to PC, it appears the connection keeps getting dropped and re-connected during the sync, non-stop until pull the cable off. When the switch is turned off the battery charges fine with MicroUSB connected to PC.
Not sure it is just my bad luck or a “feature” of this product. Will have to return it. Too bad I really enjoy its size and look.

|Great battery life.,
I have three battery cases for my iPhone 4. The first is a cheapie from Monoprice–and it’s a good one. I think I wound up paying 17 bucks shipped for it and it provides great battery life and reasonable protection, plus an on/off switch for charging or saving the battery for later.
The second one is an Energizer Powerskin. It has decent battery life and is great for when I will be using the phone a lot right away. But since it lacks an on/off switch it discharges itself even when I’m not using my phone, so not the best choice for most situations.
I wanted a case always charged and ready that worked like the Monoprice case, and this one does. It also has an even bigger battery, which is good. It can recharge my iPhone 4 from dead to over 85%, which is the best performance I’ve ever seen in one of these battery cases. Sometimes it goes almost to 90%. Just depends on how good the charge was in the case and how much residual juice was in the phone.
It’s the best case of the three.
The Energizer has a nicer silicone feel and the Monoprice was cheaper. I got this ChargeBlock case from Woot! for $19.95 shipped and for that money it’s a great deal. If you love your iPhone and use it like crazy, this case is a good one for you; you’ll wonder how you did without it. A lot of people go right for the Mophie Juice Pack. It’s a good case–better quality than this one but if you’re doing a lot of case switching to keep a full charge, you might not want to be spending seventy bucks on a battery case.
If you find this one for under thirty, it’s a steal. Same for the Monoprice case. A pair of these will unleash the power of the iPhone 4 by freeing you from its battery limitations.

|REVISED: Stopped working after 6 weeks,
I purchased this as it has a high battery capacity and I wanted to be sure it would completely charge a depleted iPhone. That, it does. What it does not do is work as a solid case. You first notice when you open the packaging that all four extra covers are very flimsy. Second, the cover never solidly fits on the base while your iPhone is inserted. If you push and snap in one area, another part lifts up. Then while using it on vacation, the worst happened – the flimsy cover broke at the flimsy point. This is really poorly made – I would go with a more solid case with less charge than a flimsy one with more charge. I’m a little surprised no one has written a review on this – I will definitely try to take it back when I come back home. Stay away from this one!!!

|Reliable. Works great,
After trying umpteen zillion cheap iPhone cables only to end up with umpteen zillion cables that don’t work, or only work part of the time, I finally got an RND cable — a 6 ft white one. It was great, so I ventured out to get another RND cable — this 10 ft one. It too works great!
I agree with another reviewer that the connection doesn’t totally latch tight. Being heavier/thicker cables also makes these RNDs slightly more likely to detach. For myself though, I haven’t found this to be a problem. They stay in perfectly fine.
Over the upcoming months if either of my RND cables stops working I will be back in here to update my review. At this point, however, these RND cables are by far the most reliable iPhone cables I have come across.
*** UPDATE – March 19, 2012
My cable stopped charging or syncing. I wrote to the company (RND Power Solutions) saying that my cable stopped working. Within just a few hours they responded saying that for one of their cables to stop working was rare, and that they would send me a replacement. Well, they did. I just got it — very fast — within about 3 business days of my writing to them.
RND backed up their product with no hassles, no muss, no fuss. I am very pleased. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from RND again. In fact, since I just left my shorter RND cable at a conference, I have just ordered another one. I like it when a company backs up their product, and does so in a hassle free way.
As an interesting aside, my first 10 ft RND cable did have a slight bit of a loose connection on the iPhone side. However the one I just received doesn’t. The connection is firm. Perhaps they tightened this up a bit since earlier versions.

|Looks are Deceiving,
Looks are deceiving. I specifically bought this cable because it was ‘Apple Approved.’. It also looks much sturdier than the Apple cable – in short, it LOOKS as if it is built to last. My old cable that originally came with my iPad was beginning to fray. It still works, but I didn’t like the idea of using a cable where I could see the wires and had to use electrical tape to hold it. This cable from RND didn’t work more than a month and a half. For a short while, it worked intermittently, and then not at all. My original Apple cable with electrical tape holding it still works. I think I would have been better off purchasing one of the cut rate deals that may or may not work or just biting the bullet and getting a new one from Apple.

|Nice…..but,
The length of this cable was a big plus. It’s also thicker and heavier duty than the OEM cables for the tablets and phones. The packaging was real nice too, kinda trying to meep up with Apple’s packaging. The issue is that the plug end doesn’t hold securely into either the phone or tablet. It falls out too easily, which doesn’t work for me. The Apple cables stay in. Don’t know if this was just the cable I bought or if they are all like this. Too bad, otherwise it would be a winner!
